🚀 How I Built Oblix: Seamless AI Orchestration Between Local & Cloud Models

🧠 The Problem: Managing Local AI Models is a Nightmare

As AI developers, we love the flexibility of running models locally with tools like Ollama, Llama2, and Mistral. But let’s be honest—local models come with some serious headaches:

❌ CPU/GPU Overload → Running Llama2 on Ollama can slow your whole system
❌ No Seamless Cloud Fallback → When your system maxes out, there’s no automatic fallback to OpenAI/Claude
❌ Internet Drops? You're Stuck → No easy way to switch between local & cloud AI
❌ Too Much API Juggling → Developers have to manually switch between different model endpoints

So I built Oblix.ai to fix this.

đź’ˇ What is Oblix?

Oblix is a Python SDK that automatically routes AI workloads between local models and cloud-based models based on:
âś… CPU/GPU usage (prevents system overload)
âś… Network availability (offline = local, online = cloud)
âś… User-defined model preferences (e.g., prioritize fast responses)

The result? Your AI just works, without crashes, slowdowns, or manual switching.

🔧 How Oblix Works (Code Example)

# Initialize client
client = OblixClient(oblix_api_key="your_key")

# Hook models
await client.hook_model(ModelType.OLLAMA, "llama2")
await client.hook_model(ModelType.OPENAI, "gpt-3.5-turbo", api_key="sk-...")

client.hook_agent(ResourceMonitor())
client.hook_agent(ConnectivityAgent())

# Oblix will automatically pick the best model based on system conditions
response = await client.execute("Explain quantum computing")

No more manual switching.
No more performance headaches.
Just seamless AI execution.

🚀 Why This Matters for AI Developers

With Oblix, you don’t have to worry about:
âś… Managing multiple LLM APIs manually
âś… Slowdowns from resource-heavy local models
âś… Your AI breaking when the internet drops

Instead, Oblix handles everything automatically, so you can focus on building instead of debugging.

📌 Who Should Try Oblix?

🚀 If you’re building with Ollama, OpenAI, Claude, Mistral, Whisper, or other LLMs, Oblix makes your workflow easier.

We’re actively looking for early adopters and developer feedback. If this sounds interesting, check it out!
